Italo Design 1968-1978 - The catalogue

The first volume of the "Italo Design" series collects the cars from the "Italo Design: 1968-1978" exhibition, held at the Swiss Museum of Transport between 2018 and 2019 and dedicated to the Italian style of the 1970s. Through ten cars from the Lopresto Collection, all prototypes or rare models, the exhibition recounts an era of great imagination and great changes.

The 1970s were difficult years for Italian coachbuilders, the coachbuilders market disappeared and the only way to survive was to collaborate with the major car manufacturers. This is how numerous proposals for Italian and foreign brands were born, which do not always actually went into production. At the same time, show cars, cars with extreme shapes, became the main attractions of international motor shows, and all the most important designers tried their hand at imaginative futuristic creations. Next to the cars the exhibition featured period furniture design objects, lent from the collection of Enzo Fabiani.

The volume is available at a price of 30 euros plus shipping costs, which will be destined to the Uccio Lopresto Association for Bagnara Calabra. To purchase a copy, write to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
