1961 Alfa Romeo Giulietta SZ

 

Alla fine del 1960 Elio Zagato inizia lo studio di un’evoluzione della carrozzeria della Giulietta SZ, che risulta poco competitiva rispetto alla nuova Lotus Elite. Sfruttando l’aerodinamica il designer Ercole Spada sviluppa la nuova carrozzeria a coda tronca, che guadagna 20 km/h di velocità massima, raggiungendo i 220. Il prototipo di questa nuova versione, con numero di telaio 00170, nasce con la coda tonda e viene usato per i test aerodinamici. Muso e coda vengono modificati per testare l’efficienza delle diverse soluzioni. Una volta definita la line l’auto viene venduta ad Albino Buticchi, che la usa in alcune gare.
