Chassis number: Z11677-00001002
Engine no: 01646-015673
Unveiled by Zagato at the 1983 Geneva Motor Show, the Zeta6 was designed for small-series production on Alfa Romeo GTV6 mechanics. It was a 2+2 coupe with a 2.5 V6 engine, designed by Giuseppe Mittino, head of Zagato design at the time. A second example, chassis 1002, was exhibited at the 1984 Turin Motor Show with some modifications to the grille, dashboard and interior.
This second prototype used a particular metallic paint with an iridescent effect on the blue-green hue, produced by IVI. The car was bought by Peter Livanos, owner of Aston Martin. Shortly thereafter, Zagato would have been commissioned by the British house a limited series based on the Vantage, which will revive the historic collaboration between the two brands.
In 2000, this Zeta6 became part of the Lopresto collection, perfectly preserved and with only 15,000 kilometers from new. The only other Zeta6 built is now at the Alfa Romeo Museum in Arese while a third prototype has never been completed.
